Lives: Hikawa Shrine in Minato Ward, Jûban neighborhood in Tokyo, the Moon Kingdom, Crystal Tokyo
Occupation: Middle school and High school student, Shine Miko, a Sailor Scout
Rei Hino is the daughter of a politician, who lives with her grandfather at Hikawa Shinto Shrine where she is a shrine maiden (or a Miko). She keeps two ravens as pets, Phobos and Deimos, who protect and help her. Rei is seen as being mature and regal, and very loyal to the Sailor Scouts/ their mission. Rei was the third Sailor Scout to be awakened and is known as “the Guardian of Fire and Passion” (Takeuchi Vol.1 2011:87), just like the Roman god of the same name. Her powers include exercising the evil spirits of the enemy and purifying through fire, she also has the ability to see the future.
